I have been thinking about how to share my current life's journey with family, friends and colleagues in a positive way. I couldn't come up with any good time to tell you that I have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that is inoperable. I began having abdominal pains about 5 weeks ago that led to a needle biopsy (FNA) of left cervical regional lymph node in my neck on Tuesday, November 17, 2014.
Sadly, cancer first touched Marcella’s life when her older sister Adriana died at the age of nine from leukemia, after battling cancers for all of her young life. Marcella was only three years old at the time of Adriana's death. Her family history with this disease is a heartbreaking one. Her own journey with the disease also started at a young age when she developed an extensive form of skin cancer.
My name is Tammi Wright and I am a two time cancer survivor. I would like to tell you a little about my story. In 2005, I was diagnosed with an aggressive stage 3 breast cancer just 3 months after giving birth to my daughter I obviously beat it and had the support of my family but not much of any extended support. It was tough. Skip forward to the end of 2017 and the "c" word reared its ugly head AGAIN!
Susanna Garcia is an amazingly strong woman and mother of 8. She is suffering from Stage 4 Gastric Intestinal Pancreatic Cancer. She was only given a few weeks to live.
So to raise money for Susanna and her family, Kick Cancer in the Face donated money for each person who participated in the strength challenge after class. All you have to do is get stronger, while also helping a family in need.
Julie Levi and her two kids started training in 2013. It took a little bit of time but in March of 2014 Julie started training. She was really overweight, but lost 50 lbs in her first year of training. She was not just a student who trained all the time to earn her green belt, but also a part of the school.
Janet Million started training in August 2013 when she came in for a buddy class with student Pattian Cutter. She loved the class and started training 3x a week. Once a week with me at the Tuesday 9:15pm class and the other 2x a week with Sempai Leonhauser. Despite some physical limitations, she did great getting herself in good shape and earning her solid blue belt.
